On Saturday, 17 May 2025, the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa hosted a co-creation workshop titled “Craftsmanship and Territory” at the Museo Civico – Sala Chilesotti. The event, held within the framework of Buongiorno Ceramica 2025 and organized as part of the European HEPHAESTUS project, brought together key stakeholders to discuss the evolving role of craft in shaping local identity and supporting sustainable territorial development.
The workshop addressed crucial questions, including:
- What future awaits historic production districts like Bassano and its connection to ceramics?
- How does artistic craftsmanship contribute to territorial identity?
- What role does craft play as intangible heritage?
- How can authenticity be preserved amid tourism growth?
- What skills and training are essential for today’s artisans?
The event is part of a series of workshops across Europe—in Dals Långed (Sweden), Bornholm (Denmark), and Bassano—aimed at developing practical solutions for artisans through inclusive, local dialogue. The discussion focused on the cultural value of craftsmanship in Bassano and Nove, emphasizing the importance of tailored training and policy recommendations that support artisan ecosystems.
