For years, the idea of placing a troll on Bornholm has sparked people’s imagination. But what would it really mean for the island’s culture, tourism, and community? Join us for a panel discussion that explores both the opportunities and challenges of “bringing a troll” to Bornholm.
Panelists:
- Mette Munch – Bornholm local and early advocate. She shares why it was important to bring a Dambo troll to the island and the challenges faced.
- Jani Keto – Bornholm local and early supporter. He reflects on the ambitions of the project and why progress stalled.
- Lars Rømer – Anthropologist and author specializing in folklore. He offers insights into Bornholm’s rich tradition of legends and how a modern troll could fit into or reshape these stories.
- Anders Wiberg – CEO of Destination Bornholm. He discusses the potential impact on Bornholm’s tourism image, visitor economy, and future development.
- In Kyong Lee – Artist and project manager (HEPHAESTUS). She brings creative perspectives on the role of art and culture in Bornholm’s growth.
The debate will be held in English, and participants are welcome to bring a friend and help shape the conversation about Bornholm’s “troll future.” There’s even a good chance to meet Lomme Ulrik, as the panel will take place in his living room.
