D20 Art Lab exhibition opening: A creative collaboration celebrating craftsmanship and innovation

D20 Art Lab exhibition opening

D20 Art Lab is proud to announce the successful opening of our latest exhibition “A Brave New World. Tales from Craft Utopia”, an immersive experience that attracted around 100 attendees to explore the intersection of art, craftsmanship, and innovation. Held at the prestigious Ca’ Foscari university of Venice campus, thanks to the generous support of the Consorzio iNEST and Venice School of Management, the event marked an exciting milestone in our journey of creative exploration and collaboration.

The exhibition is the result of a dedicated effort by D20 Art Lab, developed in collaboration with the HEPHAESTUS project, led by Prof. Marta Gasparin of Copenhagen Business School. It celebrates the profound knowledge and skills of artisans across four unique ecosystems. From the earliest stages of research—listening to artisans and academics alike—to the final immersive experience, this project seeks to bridge the gap between tradition and cutting-edge innovation.

Attendees, including teachers, students, and curious visitors, were captivated by the exhibits and the utopian world we are creating. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing fascination and curiosity about the themes and artistic approach. The exhibition is a platform for creative engagement, encouraging visitors to leave their thoughts via QR codes attached to each panel. These insights will be invaluable in helping us grow and evolve the exhibition in future editions.

The D20 Art Lab team – Raffaella Rivi and Sergio Marchesini would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the whole HEPHAESTUS project team, all the collaborators and hosts who made this exhibition possible. Together, we are shaping a space where craftsmanship meets the future, and we invite everyone to be part of this exciting journey.
