The HEPHAESTUS project was proud to participate in the International Conference on Supply Chain Social Sustainability in MSMEs held in Kolkata, India, hosted by FOSMI and the Ministry of MSME.
Representing the project, Dr. David Christensen, Team Lead at BOFA (Bornholms Affaldsbehandling), delivered a keynote address that showcased BOFA’s commitment to social sustainability and the alignment of its initiatives with HEPHAESTUS’ mission.
Dr. Christensen highlighted BOFA’s groundbreaking work on the Danish island of Bornholm, focusing on its Living Lab interventions as part of the HEPHAESTUS project. These efforts are specifically designed to support craft maker MSMEs by fostering innovation while ensuring environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Bornholm’s ambitious journey toward a waste-free future by 2032, driven by prevention, reuse, and recycling, served as an inspiring example for conference attendees.
The conference offered an excellent opportunity to share insights and collaborate with experts from around the globe. HEPHAESTUS is dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions in craft ecosystems, and participation in such events underscores the importance of working together to build resilient, sustainable supply chains through innovative and community-focused approaches.
